释道真，俗姓张，出家于沙州（今甘肃敦煌）三界寺（敦煌遗书斯坦因三一四七）。十九岁修习《佛名经》（北京图书馆柰字八八）。后唐长兴五年（九三四）为比丘，编《三界寺藏内经论目录》（敦煌研究院三四五）。后汉乾祐元年（九四八）为三界寺观音院主，重修敦煌莫高窟南大像北一所古窟。三年，为沙州释门僧政。后周显德三年（九五六）始授徒施戒。宋太宗雍熙四年（九八七）任沙州都僧录（斯坦因四九一五），卒于任。敦煌遗书保存其书启残件二件，文二篇，诗六首。今录诗六首。
