圣人不可作，遗经启蒙愚。大义乖复明，实赖宋诸儒。
其言若澹泊，其旨乃膏腴。我朝百年来，教学秉程朱。
博闻强识士，论经良补苴。大小则有办，岂谓循异涂。
柰何习转胜，意纵而辞诬。竞言能汉学，琐细搜残馀。
至宁取谶纬，而肆诋河图。从风道后学，才杰实唱于。
以异尚为名，圣学毋乃芜。言多及大人，周乱兆有初。
彼以不学敝，今学亦可虞。嗟吾本孤立，识谬才复拘。
抱志不得朋，嘅叹终田庐。甥有吾家性，礼部方升书。
才当为世用，勉自正所趋。矻矻校遗经，用意宁投虚。
盛夏示我卷，秋叶今零株。至道无变更，景物乃须臾。
伪学纵有禁，道德终昌舒。试观宋元间，士盛东南隅。
以视后世贤，人物诚何如。愿甥取吾说，守拙终不渝。

姚鼐（nài）（1731～1815）清代著名散文家，与方苞、刘大櫆并称为“桐城三祖”。字姬传，一字梦谷，室名惜抱轩（在今桐城中学内），世称惜抱先生、姚惜抱，安徽桐城人。乾隆二十八年（1763）中进士，任礼部主事、四库全书纂修官等，年才四十，辞官南归，先后主讲于扬州梅花、江南紫阳、南京钟山等地书院四十多年。著有《惜抱轩全集》等，曾编选《古文辞类纂》。
