我梦扬州，便想到扬州梦我。第一是隋堤绿柳，不堪烟锁。潮打三更瓜步月，雨荒十里红桥火。更红鲜冷淡不成圆，樱桃颗。
译文：我思念故乡扬州，就觉得扬州也在呼唤着我。首先入梦的是隋堤上杨柳，娇嫩得经不起雨蒙雾锁。那瓜步山下，夜半江潮拍打着岸边；似乎也拍打着倒映在江中的月亮。细雨洒满十里扬州路，灯光耀然醒目，映衬着如虹跨涧的红桥胜似火。更有那尚待成熟的樱桃晶莹红润，都无不令人魂系梦牵。
注释：左：违背，不合。步，一作埠。山名，在江苏六合东南，亦名桃叶山。家：这里指扬州。瓜步：瓜步山。在江苏省六合东南，南临大江。瓜步月就是瓜步这个地方上面的月亮。红桥：在扬州城西北二里，是扬州游览胜地。
何日向，江村躲；何日上，江楼卧。有诗人某某，酒人个个。花径不无新点缀，沙鸥颇有闲功课。将白头供作折腰人，将毋左。
译文：什么时候才能回到故乡扬州，以归隐江村，频卧江楼？与诗朋吟和，同酒友对酌。在自家花园里时时点缀新鲜花草。如同沙鸥一样能自由自在生活。白头老人还为五斗米去屈身弯腰？岂不违背了自己的志趣！

郑板桥（1693—1765）清代官吏、书画家、文学家。名燮，字克柔，汉族，江苏兴化人。一生主要客居扬州，以卖画为生。“扬州八怪”之一。其诗、书、画均旷世独立，，世称“三绝”，擅画兰、竹、石、松、菊等植物，其中画竹已五十余年，成就最为突出。著有《板桥全集》。康熙秀才、雍正举人、乾隆元年进士。中进士后曾历官河南范县、山东潍县知县，有惠政。以请臻饥民忤大吏，乞疾归。
