唐代：柳宗元
海畔尖山似剑铓，秋来处处割愁肠。
译文：海边的尖山好像利剑锋芒，到秋天处处割断人的愁肠。
注释：海畔：畔，边。柳州在南方，距海较近，故称海畔。剑铓：剑锋，剑的顶部尖锐部分。秋：秋季。割：断。愁肠：因思乡而忧愁，有如肝肠寸断。
若为化得身千亿，散上峰头望故乡。
译文：怎能让此身化作千千万万，撒落到每个峰顶眺望故乡！
注释：若：假若。化得身：柳宗元精通佛典，同行的浩初上人又是龙安海禅师的弟子，作者自然联想到佛经中“化身”的说法，以表明自己的思乡情切。千亿：极言其多。散上：飘向。一作“散作”。峰头：山峰的顶端。望：遥望。故乡：这里指长安，而作者的家乡在河东。

柳宗元（773年－819年），字子厚，唐代河东（今山西运城）人，杰出诗人、哲学家、儒学家乃至成就卓著的政治家，唐宋八大家之一。著名作品有《永州八记》等六百多篇文章，经后人辑为三十卷，名为《柳河东集》。因为他是河东人，人称柳河东，又因终于柳州刺史任上，又称柳柳州。柳宗元与韩愈同为中唐古文运动的领导人物，并称“韩柳”。在中国文化史上，其诗、文成就均极为杰出，可谓一时难分轩轾。
