环境决定命运

孩子年纪小，思想单纯，辨别问题能力弱，处于学习和培养阶段。心理学家告诉我们，人出生后，需要五到六年时间来建立基本的价值观和其他观念，以使他先天获得的各种遗传优势在后天得以发展。而在孩子基本价值观还没确立的最初几年里，周围发生的人和事他会看在眼里，记在心里，并模仿效法，久而久之便被同化，形成习惯。而习惯一旦形成，思想被接受，根深蒂固后就很难改变。看来，孟母深谙环境对孩子的影响之道，所以不厌其烦地多次搬家。

我为什么要去美国读大学我就是文章中提到的那个儿子。 文章我读了一遍，感觉惊异。已经开始丢三忘四的老爸，絮叨起我同学的事情，记忆准确，如数家珍，其中有的同学出国的事情，我好像只在吃饭的时候提过一句。看来真是“说者无心，听者有意”啊。 不管怎样，我把这篇文章转给了文中提到过的已经在国外读高中的几位同学。其中一位同学（我中考那年的崇文区状元）回信给我，说经过一年的国外学习，她的观念已经发生了变化，“原来只想着能上一所排名靠前的大学”，“现在想的是要努力做自己想做的事”。 对她观念发生的变化，我一点都不奇怪。这就像我在美国读书的那段时间（2006－2007年，小学六年级）发生了许多变化一样。但是，在美国的时候，对将来要在哪里读大学的问题，我并没有确定的想法。尽管我的“忘年之友”、几位来自北大、清华等中国名校的哈佛博士生不止一次地劝我，“一定要出来读大学”，并告诉我说“出来之后才知道大学的时间浪费太多了”……但是，我对当时看来还很遥远的问题根本没有什么概念。 那时，我主要忙于应付美国学校的功课。都说美国的学校课业负担轻，功课不紧张。但这要看从哪个角度讲。数学课，一学年下来也没有几次作业，确实不具太高挑战性。但是，我在的学校有一个作业天天都有，那就是读书笔记。这个作业要天天写，老师每周都要检查。 开始的时候，我以为可以用国内语文课上的“读后感”模板来应付读书笔记，也就是一般先把书中内容梗概写一下，再写几句心得便可。哪知道，老师的“朱笔御批”（书法直逼英文狂草，极难辨认）总是问题一大堆。这些问题对我而言，简直“太伤自尊了”。我实在弄不懂，他的那些问题和我读过的书有什么关系。大概在头几十篇读书笔记中，老师几乎在每一篇批语中，都写着“我需要你的reaction”，“你的thought呢”，“你的idea是什么”，“给我你的viewpoint”……你的，你的，你的；我的，我的，我的。书读到这个份上，才知道看别人的书，为的是生产自己的想法。 我老爸在和批改我读书笔记的老师面谈时（类似中国家长会，但谈学生情况都是一对一面谈），曾委婉地请老师对我读书笔记的用词、句式和语法等“多加指点”。老爸事后说，老师对他说的一番话，让他觉得“不好意思”（我理解那其实就是无地自容的意思哈）。老师对老爸说，不要担心一夫的英语（语法），书看多了，错误自然就少了；不会说话的人少，不会思想的人多…… 这些话让我明白了，我每天的作业，其实就是在教我思考，启发我思考，“逼迫”我思考。为了完成这种要有自己的reaction、thought、idea和viewpoint的作业，我不得不看更多的书，上网找更多的资料。慢慢地，“朱笔御批”中的内容变成了“商榷”和探讨，而有时则干脆是我的名字后面加上两个英文单词：“Great job（非常好）”。天天读书“写作”的结果，就是我在插班的第一个学期末，不仅在数学和科学，而且在戏剧等全部八门功课上，都得到了A。 那种每天都需要你用创意去完成作业的生活在回国之后中断了。先是我发现在美国我一天登陆无数次、几乎所有学生都离不开的 网上不了。这个严酷的事实，令我无法想象，如果没有 ，我将怎样面对今后的作业。我曾听老爸在和别人聊天时说，回国后不长时间，他遇到了一个已经当了部长的北大校友，问他，该怎么向一个孩子解释这个国家为什么要封锁 网？ 大概就是在这次谈话过后不久，维基解封了。这件事，肯定与我老爸的牢骚没什么关系。但是，我也敢肯定，那个与负责此事有关的“校友”，在决定解封维基时，不会投反对票。谢谢您啦，那位伯伯！ 维基解封了。但我发现维基也用不着了。因为我每天的作业都是有“标答”的，根本不用劳维基的大驾。我的作业中，也让你看“四大名著”，但这些阅读，与其说是让你从阅读中发现什么，创造什么，还不如说是为了让你记住某些“别人”希望“教化”你的几点结论性教条。对这样的阅读，我从来也不勉强，宁可在此失分。 在主动“失分”方面，还有更生猛的同学。进入初中三年级，中考的压力日增。老师出了个作文题目：“初三”。我的一个同学（就是老爸文章中说被新泽西一所中学录取的那位），“勇敢地”以此为题描述了他在大年“初三”那天的快乐生活。当然，在老师进行讲评的时候，他可没从他这个另类创意中得到什么快乐。 我们的考题中，也有看似需要“创意”的题目。一次，高一政治考试中，一个题目需要“谈谈你的看法”。在试卷讲评时，老师“爱怜”地对在这个题目上汪洋恣肆却没得分的同学说：“孩子，你真的以为要你谈什么看法呀？！”在同学们心领神会的暗笑中，这些将来几乎肯定都会进入中国重点大学的“精英”，自然而然地给“标答”和“自己的看法”找到了各自的位置。 来看这道题目：“请对比西奥多·罗斯福与伍德罗·威尔逊的外交政策”。再看这个：“请分析18世纪80年代的政治、经济和外交危机是怎样影响美国1787宪法中的条款的”。这两个题目，是我准备AP(Advanced Placement)美国历史科目考试时需要思考的几百个类似题目中的两个。这种题目，在教科书中是无法找到“标答”的，仅罗列史实也是不行的。 我知道，如果要回答“对比 与 的外交政策”的问题，尤其是要对政策和人物作出“谈谈你的看法”的评价时，那是需要一定资格的。但是，试想，一个从中学时代起，就要对国家的外交政策不断发表看法的人，和一个进入外交部门才知道外交为何物的人，在对世界大势和国家利益的判断上，哪一个更有可能把握得恰当一些？ 需要创意的思考，在国内学校属非主流。为SAT备考，为AP备考，我都是利用高一和高二期间免修英语课的时间。即便如此，你也必须时刻警惕着，不能让那些激荡你大脑的问题闯入“标答”的地盘。在学校，我们的“研究性学习”项目还只有2个必修的学分。而类似（引自剑桥大学国际考试局的）SDP（Skills Development Programme）等培养批判性思维、激发创意的课程，在我们学校也只是被列为选修课，而在其他学校，类似这样的课程，可能都没有被列入选修课表。好在当我和几位同学参加完在田纳西大学举行的DI（Destination Imagination）全球总决赛后，我知道了一个地方的非主流，在另外的地方可能就是主流。 上次出国前，一个“海归”姐姐对我说：“千万别以为到了美国就自然会说英语。”这句话，我记住了。同样，我知道，到美国读大学，也并不一定就会用好美国的教育资源。我老爸把我送出国门，修行当在我个人啦。 （附注：董一夫是北京四中学生，即将升入高三年级。）

记得第一天上学，我梳着妈妈给我梳的“冲天辨”，兴冲冲地背着书包拉着妈妈的饿手往学校走。在路上，碰见许多送孩子的家长，他们一看见我就说：“个子这么小，能背动大书包吗？”听后我挺直了身体。我那时虽不足90厘米高，可书包是完全能背得动的。
从一年级到三年级，都有人送我上学，有一次，妈妈试着让我自己走，可却暗中“跟踪”我。老师知道后，在周一的“卫生纪律大比评”中，在我的名字上贴了一颗大大的红星。
上四年级时，我一个小女孩喜欢上了足球，天天跟爸爸看足球赛，有时还出去踢两脚，嘿！老爸干脆管我叫“儿子”，直到现在还是。
上五年级时，我转学了，临走的那天，我哭了。我的好朋友，以及全班的女同学都哭了。晚上，我坐车去新家时，她们把我送到车站。从那时起，我懂得什么叫不舍之情。
上六年级，妈妈把我送到“净士”来学习，学了一阵，作文有了不少得进步。妈妈说，要一直在那儿学，上中学时作文就不用愁了，还能学会怎样做人。
